The short version

The Tenere 700 wins on the things that matter far from home: a CP2 twin with legendary reliability, simple robust running gear and a price that leaves budget for tyres and fuel. The 2025 update added ride-by-wire, ride modes and a big TFT without ruining the simplicity.

Where it wins

  • CP2 reliability with 42,000 km valve intervals
  • Undercuts the 890 Adventure R by around 4,000 EUR
  • 2025 brings ride modes and traction control you can fully disable

Where it loses

  • Gives away 32 hp and suspension spec to the KTM
  • Two-piston front brakes are adequate, never strong
