The short version
The 450MT is the bike that made the small adventure class nervous: a 42 hp 270 degree twin, fully adjustable KYB suspension at both ends and a 17.5 litre tank for 6,499 EUR, backed by a four year warranty. The hardware embarrasses bikes costing thousands more; the dealer network is still catching up to the product.
Where it wins
- Fully adjustable KYB suspension is unheard of at this price
- Four year warranty and a 40,000 km first valve check
- 175 kg claimed wet with a 17.5 litre tank for real range
Where it loses
- 5,000 km oil intervals mean twice the workshop visits of rivals
- Young dealer network for parts and warranty work
- No ride modes or quickshifter at any price

Why the 450MT rattled the establishment
Every comparison test puts it the same way: the 450MT brings suspension hardware from two price classes up. Reviewers who ran it against the Royal Enfield Himalayan found the fully adjustable KYB fork gave more front-end control and more confidence to push in technical terrain, with one test calling the CFMOTO simply more battle-ready.
A 320 mm disc with a radial four-piston caliper, switchable Bosch ABS and traction control, and a curved TFT with connectivity complete a spec sheet that reads like a misprint at 6,499 EUR. It is not a misprint. That is the entire disruption.
The twin against the singles
The 270 degree twin makes its 42 hp at revs, and testers note the flip side: the Himalayan's single serves more of its torque low down, which suits crawling-pace technical work and newer riders. The CFMOTO answers everywhere else, pulling harder on open trails and holding motorway speed with less strain.
Riders describe it as feeling like a traditional adventure bike scaled down rather than a big trail bike, slightly larger-feeling than the Enfield but easier to hustle thanks to the claimed 175 kg wet weight.
The fine print on the bargain
Oil services every 5,000 km are the price of entry, double the workshop visits of the KTM and Enfield, though the first valve check at 40,000 km and the four year warranty pull the ownership maths back hard in CFMOTO's favour.
The honest unknown is the dealer network, which is growing fast but is not yet everywhere, and that matters more on a travel bike than on a commuter. Check your map before the deposit. If the map cooperates, nothing at this price does more.
