The short version

The 2025 update gave the MT-07 what a decade of owners asked for: ride-by-wire, traction control, ride modes and a 5 inch TFT. The CP2 twin remains the friendliest engine in the class, and the valve check interval remains the stuff of legend.

Where it wins

  • CP2 twin is torquey, economical and effectively unbreakable
  • 42,000 km valve intervals and huge dealer network
  • 2025 finally adds TC, ride modes and a TFT

Where it loses

  • Soft budget suspension shows its price at pace
  • Gives away 22 hp to the 790 Duke for similar money
